Oversee project development by leading engineers and technicians, ensuring adherence to customer specifications, engineering principles, and company standards. Responsible for long-term planning and accountability in project cost, schedule, and performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering and technical teams through all phases of project development to meet customer and organizational requirements.
- Assess project proposals, including drawings and specifications, to evaluate feasibility, risks, and resource needs, approving those aligned with standards.
- Establish and maintain standardized procedures, designs, and controls to ensure project reliability and consistency.
- Support long-range planning by contributing to business and facility strategies that promote product line growth and sustainability.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to develop, negotiate, and finalize project proposals, contracts, and agreements.
- Manage team workflow, staffing, training, and performance to ensure effective project execution.
- Coordinate resolution of technical challenges, scheduling conflicts, and design testing issues as they arise.
- Review and approve engineering changes, specifications, and design modifications to maintain project integrity.
- Provide oversight and guidance to engineers and technicians on complex, full-scale project developments.
- Monitor project budgets, approve expense estimates, and ensure expenditures remain within financial limits.
- Conduct performance evaluations, identify training needs, and support staffing for the engineering team.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of five years of relevant professional experience.
- At least two years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Proven background in project engineering and technical project execution.
- Prior managerial experience within an engineering environment.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills with the ability to solve complex problems.
- Ability to interpret and analyze technical and scientific documentation.
- Demonstrated success in leading and influencing technical teams.
- Track record of delivering product development projects on time in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills across organizational levels.
