Serve Robotics is hiring a Senior Product Manager, Hardware

About the Role

This role involves owning the hardware product lifecycle for autonomous delivery robots, working closely with engineering, design, and operations to define requirements, prioritize features, and deliver reliable, scalable hardware solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end product development for robotic hardware platforms
  • Define product requirements based on operational needs and technical constraints
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure design for manufacturability
  • Manage timelines and deliverables across multiple hardware development phases
  • Conduct user research to understand field performance and pain points
  • Translate customer and operator feedback into product improvements
  • Work with supply chain and manufacturing partners to scale production
  • Evaluate new technologies and components for integration into hardware
  • Develop test plans to validate reliability and durability in real-world conditions
  • Coordinate with software teams to ensure seamless hardware-software integration
  • Own product documentation, including specs, user manuals, and training materials
  • Support certification and compliance efforts for safety and regulatory standards
  • Monitor field performance and lead root cause analysis for hardware issues
  • Drive cost optimization without compromising quality or functionality
  • Facilitate cross-team alignment between design, engineering, and operations
  • Present product updates and roadmaps to executive stakeholders
  • Manage risk throughout the product lifecycle, from prototyping to deployment
  • Ensure scalability of hardware solutions across different service environments
  • Lead post-launch reviews to assess performance and identify enhancements
  • Stay current with advancements in robotics, sensors, and electromechanical systems

Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree in engineering or related field
  • Experience in robotics or autonomous vehicle development
  • Background in mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Direct experience with last-mile delivery or logistics technology
  • Familiarity with ISO or UL certification processes
  • Knowledge of battery systems and power management in mobile robots
  • Experience working in startup or high-growth technology environments
  • Exposure to AI-driven robotics or perception systems
  • Project management certification such as PMP or Scrum Master
  • International manufacturing or supply chain experience
