Design and architect modern data solutions for complex software projects by leveraging MongoDB’s platform across cloud and on-prem deployments. You’ll translate customer requirements into scalable, resilient system designs that support long-term growth and performance.
Guide technical decision-making
Work directly with engineering and business stakeholders to evaluate existing architectures, recommend improvements, and demonstrate how MongoDB technologies solve real-world challenges. You’ll communicate technical advantages in business terms, helping organizations understand the impact on efficiency, scalability, and innovation.
Partner with sales to drive outcomes
Collaborate with sales teams on account planning, opportunity assessment, and pipeline development. Lead technical discovery, deliver product demonstrations, manage proof-of-concept engagements, and support sizing and documentation to advance deals and strengthen customer alignment.
Stimulate demand and adoption
Initiate technical outreach through events, workshops, and targeted campaigns. Build credibility and visibility in your territory by engaging with developers, architects, and IT leaders to generate interest and momentum around MongoDB’s capabilities.
Support customer success and innovation
Build trusted relationships that extend beyond initial sales. Help customers achieve their goals, identify champions within organizations, and ensure long-term satisfaction. Share field insights with product teams to influence roadmap decisions and contribute to platform evolution.
Develop expertise and mentor others
Stay current with MongoDB’s evolving product suite and broader industry trends through continuous learning. Share knowledge with peers, mentor junior team members, and help raise the overall technical bar within the solutions consulting organization.
What we’re looking for
- 8–11 years in customer-facing technical roles, with 5–7 years in pre-sales for enterprise software
- At least 3 years using programming or scripting languages such as Python, Node.js, Java, C/C++, C#, or SQL
- Proven experience designing distributed, highly available systems in cloud or on-prem environments
- Strong ability to assess complex application architectures and recommend technical improvements
- Excellent communication skills, with experience presenting to both technical and executive audiences
- Ability to collaborate with sales on multi-threaded account strategies and resource coordination
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Ideal background includes
- Experience deploying applications on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Knowledge of database modeling, query optimization, or data engineering workflows
- Involvement in AI/ML initiatives or modernization of legacy systems
- Familiarity with sales frameworks like MEDDPICC or Command of the Message
- Holding a MongoDB or cloud provider certification
