What You'll Do
Diagnose and resolve intricate database issues for customers running mission-critical PostgreSQL environments. You'll collaborate with senior database specialists to analyze performance bottlenecks, replication failures, and system instability, delivering clear and actionable solutions through remote communication channels.
Lead real-time troubleshooting sessions using screen sharing to address urgent production incidents. Contribute technical insights by writing blog articles, responding to community inquiries, and maintaining a comprehensive knowledge base that empowers users and strengthens support efficiency.
Requirements
- Extensive hands-on expertise with PostgreSQL, including core tools, extensions, and contributor-built modules
- Proven experience optimizing queries, indexes, configurations, and database architecture for performance
- Strong familiarity with backup and recovery strategies such as pg_basebackup, pgBackRest, WAL-G, and Point-in-Time Recovery
- Working knowledge of high availability setups, replication topologies, and connection pooling tools like Patroni, repmgr, and pgBouncer
- Experience managing Linux environments and diagnosing system-level issues affecting database performance
- Background with containerized deployments of PostgreSQL using Docker and Kubernetes, including debugging in-cluster problems
- Ability to methodically isolate root causes and implement reliable fixes for complex technical issues
- Self-motivated approach to learning and adapting to emerging database technologies
- Willingness to travel occasionally for team gatherings, industry events, or on-site customer engagements
- Fluent written and spoken English for clear customer communication
