About the Role
The individual in this role will manage end-to-end payroll operations, support process improvements, and ensure timely and accurate delivery of payroll data while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage payroll processing for employees across various states and territories
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Review and reconcile payroll data for accuracy before submission
- Collaborate with HR and finance teams to resolve payroll discrepancies
- Support audits by providing accurate and timely payroll records
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and labor regulations
- Assist in implementing payroll system upgrades or new software
- Prepare and distribute pay statements and related documentation
- Handle employee inquiries regarding wages, deductions, and taxes
- Track and report on paid time off and leave balances
- Process wage garnishments and other court-ordered deductions
- Ensure proper classification of employees for tax purposes
- Support year-end reporting including W-2 and 1099 preparation
- Identify opportunities to streamline payroll workflows
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll information
- Train team members on payroll policies and procedures
- Monitor payroll tax deposits and filings for compliance
- Coordinate with third-party vendors managing payroll systems
- Document payroll processes and update standard operating procedures
- Assist with special projects related to payroll and compliance
