Hugging Face is hiring a Senior Open-Source Machine Learning Engineer, Computer Vision. You will leverage your deep expertise to boost support for vision and multimodal models within our open-source ecosystem. Your work will focus on libraries like Transformers and Datasets, aiming to provide the machine learning community with the best, simplest, and most intuitive computer-vision tool stack available.
What You'll Do
- Enhance the support for vision or multimodal models and datasets within existing open-source libraries, such as Transformers and Datasets.
- Build and refine the best computer-vision tool stack in the machine learning ecosystem.
- Foster our active machine learning community by helping users contribute to and utilize the tools you create.
- Interact daily with researchers, ML practitioners, and data scientists through platforms like GitHub, forums, and Slack.
- Work with cross-functional teams, reviewing contributions and guiding junior contributors.
What We're Looking For
- Deep expertise in computer vision: object detection, segmentation, generative models, or multimodal systems.
- A strong open-source presence with significant contributions to CV libraries (e.g., OpenCV, Detectron2, MMDetection, or Hugging Face’s own transformers/diffusers) as a Core-Contributor or maintainer.
- A scalability mindset with experience optimizing models for production, deploying at scale, or improving inference efficiency.
- Alignment with our mission to democratize AI and empower builders with state-of-the-art tools.
- Hands-on experience building, optimizing, training, and serving models in PyTorch and/or TensorFlow.
