Bitfinex is looking for a Senior Node.js Backend Developer to join our core technology team. Inspired by Bitcoin's vision of financial freedom, we empower individuals to transact and connect globally through innovative, reliable, and accessible technology. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and scaling secure backend components for all Bitfinex services, including the main trading application, Lightning Network support, and blockchain integrations.
What You'll Do
- Develop new products and features for the Bitfinex platform using agile methodologies.
- Build backend services to ensure the platform remains smooth, responsive, and real-time as it scales.
- Create all API services and backend processes with the highest security principles to protect users.
What We're Looking For
- Exceptional Node.js and JavaScript skills.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture.
- Experience participating in the development of a complex platform.
- Good experience interacting with databases like MySQL and MongoDB.
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies.
- A good understanding of modern security practices.
Nice to Have
- Experience with blockchain integration.
- Comfort with high-availability concepts.
- Skills in other languages like Ruby, Rust, or C++.
- Experience with technologies such as message queues (Redis), caches, and job queues.
