Severn Trent Plc is hiring a Senior Modeller for its Risk Validation team. In this role, you will confirm model fitness for use to meet Severn Trent Water design standards and project-specific requirements, focusing on wastewater network performance and risk validation.
What You'll Do
- Evaluate wastewater network performance to identify new and validate existing risks and needs.
- Develop notional solutions for projects to be passed to capital delivery teams for further feasibility and design.
- Lead project-specific hydraulic modelling requirements, including model audits, fitness for use assessments, model build and verification, and risk validation of catchment drivers.
- Conduct and/or manage hydraulic modelling activity across multiple projects to meet current and future demands.
- Assess hydraulic model fitness for use; scope, procure, and manage asset, flow, and catchment surveys.
- Build, update, and verify models, confirming fitness for use to meet Severn Trent Water design standards.
- Undertake historical verification, talking to customers and operational colleagues to understand asset and system performance.
- Undertake catchment appreciation walkovers and attend surveys where necessary.
- Identify root cause and mechanisms of network issues.
What We're Looking For
- Hydraulic Network Modelling experience.
- Experience in wastewater network modelling using InfoWorks ICM and associated GIS tools, or other relevant software packages.
- Experience in sewage treatment works inlet works and storm route design and operation.
- Experience in data management, analysis, and risk identification.
- Experience in scoping projects including asset survey planning.
- Competent in the use of hydraulic modelling software.
- Comprehensive understanding of hydraulics and hydraulic model limitations.
- Well organised and possess meticulous attention to detail.
- Proactive, always looking ahead to anticipate problems and developing plans to mitigate risks.
- Able to communicate and present data in an easily digestible form to a range of audiences.
