Expedia Group is hiring a Senior Mobile Engineer

Expedia Group is looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will focus on cross-platform feature development in trip planning and sharing, with a primary focus on iOS. You will lead architectural decisions, drive the modernization of our Trips iOS platform, and mentor junior developers. You'll help create delightful experiences for travelers while advocating for engineering excellence.

What You'll Do

• Design and lead cross-platform feature development in trip planning and sharing.
• Implement holistic solutions to bring a consistent experience between platforms, focusing on iOS and advising on technological limitations and alternatives.
• Partner with UX designers, engineers, and product managers to drive deliverables.
• Advocate for engineering excellence, exceptional usability, and outstanding quality.
• Drive architectural decisions on our systems and their integration with the platform.
• Be part of an agile team that is continuously learning and improving.
• Share knowledge across teams and mentor junior developers.
• Lead development of the modernization of our Trips iOS platform including containerization of pages, performance improvements via concurrency and caching, and improving our build environment through modularization.
• Work with our platform team to ensure consistency, update the platform to allow easy adoption of improvements by other teams, and support continuous development of new features.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related field.
• 5 years of progressive, postbaccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a Software Engineer-related occupation.
• 4 years of experience in iOS development and architecture, including in SwiftUI and Swift.
• 4 years of experience in large scale architectural migrations.
• 4 years of experience in end-to-end technical design of large scale iOS features.
• 4 years of experience evangelizing best-in-class mobile development practices including concurrency and multi-threading workflows.
• 4 years of experience creating and promoting code test automation using XCTest and Swift Testing Framework.
• 4 years of experience creating and monitoring software metrics using tools such as Firebase, Datadog, or Splunk.
• 4 years of experience providing technical solutions to customer problems.
• 4 years of experience mentoring junior iOS developers.

• The total cash range for this position in Seattle, Washington is $212,202 to $242,500/year. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $295,000.
