AECOM is hiring a Senior Maritime Engineer

Shape critical maritime infrastructure as a Senior Maritime Engineer with a focus on civil and structural design in coastal environments. You will lead the end-to-end delivery of complex projects—from concept through to construction—ensuring technical excellence across quay walls, breakwaters, jetties, fendering systems, and other marine structures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and analysis of maritime structures using industry-standard software including ROBOT, PLAXIS 3D, GRLWEAP, WALLAP, and TEDDS
  • Prepare, review, and validate engineering calculations, technical reports, and design specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Oversee project planning, resourcing, and deliverables, maintaining high-quality outputs across multiple workstreams
  • Supervise on-site construction activities, providing technical oversight and resolving challenges in real time
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team capability building through knowledge sharing and professional guidance
  • Support tender processes with technical input, cost estimation, and programme planning
  • Ensure adherence to British Standards, Eurocodes, and maritime best practices

What You Bring

  • Proven experience in structural and civil engineering within marine or coastal environments
  • Strong proficiency in engineering analysis tools and a track record of delivering technically sound designs
  • Experience reviewing technical documentation and leading quality assurance processes
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-phase projects from design through to execution
  • Background in construction supervision of maritime assets is highly valued
