About the Role
This position leads the interpretation and application of complex accounting standards, supports financial statement audits, and collaborates across teams to ensure accurate reporting and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Lead the evaluation and implementation of new accounting standards
- Serve as primary technical resource for complex financial reporting matters
- Collaborate with auditors during quarterly and annual financial reviews
- Develop and document accounting policies and procedures
- Provide guidance on revenue recognition, leases, and financial instruments
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare technical accounting memos and disclosures
- Partner with cross-functional teams on transactions and initiatives
- Monitor updates from regulatory and standard-setting bodies
- Advise on accounting implications of business decisions
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and SEC requirements
- Manage special projects related to financial reporting
- Oversee the preparation of footnote disclosures
- Assist in internal control assessments and SOX compliance
- Mentor and develop junior accounting team members
- Drive process improvements in technical accounting workflows
- Coordinate with external advisors on complex accounting issues
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving accounting standards
- Support due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, or financing activities
- Ensure accurate accounting treatment for complex contracts
