NeoGenomics is looking for a Senior Manager, Managed Care to drive corporate strategies with commercial payers in support of our mission to save lives by improving patient care. You will analyze and improve our competitiveness, evaluate sales and costs, and establish strong relationships to ensure financial integrity across our managed care contracts.
What You'll Do
- Work cross-functionally with reimbursement and finance teams to support obtaining positive coverage decisions, using economic modeling and clinical trial information.
- Negotiate and manage the managed care contracting function for all contracts to ensure financial integrity for implementation.
- Develop and build relationships with major contracted providers and payers, serving as a key liaison.
- Serve as the primary NeoGenomics point of contact for current or future managed care plans within your assigned area.
- Maintain good working relationships by meeting with participating managed care plans and clients as required.
- Identify potential for revenue and cost improvements in contractual relationships, recommending and implementing changes through amendments and renewals.
- Assist in developing strategy to attract clients and patients from participating managed care programs.
- Work cross-functionally to develop alignment around strategies for securing new agreements with prioritized managed care groups.
- Direct analysis of competitive products, payor strategies, consumer research, legislation, and managed care pricing.
- Support, evaluate, recommend, and implement changes in the Company's fee schedule for managed care plans as required.
- Work directly with Billing to identify payors with low reimbursement or bad debt issues and strategize a path to success.
- Share evolving geographic, managed care, and healthcare reform-related trends with leadership.
- Review pricing proposals with the Finance team to ensure compliance with policies.
- Be accountable for strategic evaluation of complex contract issues requiring interpretation.
- Participate in audits of managed care customer contracts to ensure compliance with terms.
- Maintain current knowledge of public and applicable third-party reimbursement rules and regulations.
- Maintain current contract information in sales force or any future tracking programs.
- Manage contracts and amendments through the entire review and execution process.
- Participate in sales meetings, seminars, industry conferences, and tradeshows.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of diagnostic laboratory or anatomic pathology managed care contracting and medical policy experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or a business-related field.
- Proven ability to work well with and influence peers, sales teams, and management.
- Existing relationships with key decision makers and influencers.
- Knowledge of capitation reimbursement methodology, various market capitation rates, and tactics for securing fee for service reimbursement.
- Proven oral, written, telephone, and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of clinical and/or laboratory market environment and products.
- Ability to learn and retain product specific information and utilize it to position features and benefits to customers.
- Ability to work under deadline pressure and extra hours if needed on assignments.
- Proficient with MS Office programs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Must be able to work in a biohazard environment and comply with safety policies.
- Ability to travel as required by role (up to 50% of the time), including some overnight travel.
