About the Role

This role is responsible for overseeing the release lifecycle of software products, coordinating across engineering, product, and operations teams to ensure high-quality, predictable deployments. The individual will drive process improvements, manage release schedules, and lead a team of release engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of release strategies for large-scale software systems
  • Manage end-to-end release processes across multiple engineering teams
  • Coordinate release planning, scheduling, and execution with stakeholders
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with software deployments
  • Ensure compliance with quality, security, and operational standards
  • Develop metrics to monitor release health and performance
  • Drive automation of release workflows to improve efficiency
  • Mentor and develop a team of release management engineers
  • Collaborate with product and engineering leaders on roadmap alignment
  • Respond to production incidents with a focus on rapid resolution
  • Optimize release frequency and stability through data-driven decisions
  • Establish clear communication channels during release cycles
  • Maintain documentation for release procedures and runbooks
  • Evaluate and integrate new tools into the release pipeline
  • Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
  • Align release timelines with business objectives and milestones
  • Support audit and compliance requirements for deployment practices
  • Lead post-release reviews to capture lessons learned
  • Ensure rollback plans are in place and tested
  • Balance speed of delivery with system reliability
  • Foster collaboration between development, QA, and operations
  • Scale release processes as the organization grows
  • Implement change management protocols
  • Drive adoption of best practices in deployment orchestration
  • Manage dependencies across distributed teams and systems
