Responsibilities
- Process and prepare extensive healthcare datasets by handling missing data, detecting outliers, engineering features, and normalizing inputs for model development.
- Source, gather, and manage domain-specific datasets needed for periodic model retraining.
- Structure data to align with selected large language models and training workflows.
- Develop, train, and refine various large language models using broad healthcare datasets to address defined clinical or operational use cases.
- Configure and oversee training environments, including GPU resources and necessary software frameworks.
- Fine-tune existing large language models on proprietary datasets to meet targeted performance objectives.
- Adjust and optimize hyperparameters such as learning rate, batch size, and number of training epochs to improve model accuracy.
- Combine structured and unstructured data sources within multi-input model architectures.
- Assess model effectiveness using relevant evaluation metrics, detect performance gaps, and apply improvements.
- Build and sustain reliable, high-performance data and machine learning pipelines for training, inference, and deployment.
- Collaborate with data scientists, medical professionals, and software developers to define requirements, deploy models, and uphold data privacy standards.
- Monitor emerging trends in machine learning and healthcare artificial intelligence to identify opportunities for technical enhancement.
- Document models, data processes, and experimental outcomes thoroughly and clearly.
