About the Role
This role involves providing legal guidance on supply chain operations, including procurement, vendor contracts, regulatory compliance, and international trade laws. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to mitigate risk and support scalable business practices.
Responsibilities
- Advise on legal aspects of procurement and supplier agreements
- Draft, review, and negotiate vendor contracts
- Ensure compliance with federal acquisition regulations
- Support global supply chain operations
- Identify and manage legal risks in sourcing activities
- Work with engineering and program teams on deliverables
- Interpret export controls and trade compliance requirements
- Assist in audits and due diligence for suppliers
- Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations
- Develop internal policies for procurement governance
- Collaborate with security teams on classified programs
- Manage outside counsel when necessary
- Support mergers, acquisitions, or supplier transitions
- Lead contract dispute resolution when needed
- Ensure adherence to data rights and IP clauses
- Guide compliance with small business and socioeconomic regulations
- Evaluate subcontractor legal frameworks
- Maintain contract lifecycle documentation
- Provide training to internal stakeholders
- Support compliance with Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)
- Address cybersecurity requirements in vendor agreements
- Navigate international contracting challenges
- Assist in developing standard contract templates
- Promote ethical sourcing practices
- Coordinate with compliance officers on regulatory reporting
