IDEO is hiring a Senior Learning Experience Designer to create leading-edge courses and learning experiences for individual learners and teams. You'll work at the intersection of education, storytelling, design, and technology to help individuals and teams collaborate, innovate, and tackle complexity.
What You'll Do
- Design and develop engaging, mostly virtual learning experiences using a mix of written content, video, visuals, frameworks, and digital interactions.
- Translate cutting-edge ideas and expert knowledge into scalable, bite-sized multimedia learning that is motivating and accessible for global learners.
- Collaborate with producers, product, and marketing partners to bring learning experiences from concept through launch, contributing to story development and platform delivery.
- Conduct research and content development, including identifying topics, interviewing subject matter experts, and shaping learning objectives.
- Support iteration and improvement post-launch by incorporating learner feedback and refining content to enhance the overall experience.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience writing, designing, and crafting content for online courses and learning experiences.
- Expertise in designing learning content for the professional sector and/or soft-skill topics like creativity, storytelling, or people leadership.
- Strategic communication ability, capable of utilizing a variety of visual and verbal mediums.
- Skilled at synthesizing and distilling complex information into succinct, elegant learning concepts.
- Skilled at writing for a range of formats such as video scripts, case studies, articles, and short-form copy, flexing tone and style for different audiences.
- Experience crafting learning experiences that are inclusive and resonate with diverse audience needs, especially for underrepresented communities.
- End-to-end project leadership developing a digital educational experience with a holistic, learner-centered approach.
- Expertise in designing curriculum for soft-skills topics or business sectors such as strategy, innovation, or design thinking.
- Previous experience with digital tools such as Mural, Figma, CMS, or LMSs like NovoEd.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with talent throughout the production/filming process, including directing and guiding performance.
- ‘Launch and learn’ iterative testing expertise, such as setting up experiments, developing rapid prototypes, and testing offers against strategic goals.
