Bombardier is looking for a Senior Infrastructure Automation Specialist to lead the design and evolution of infrastructure automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) capabilities across our cloud and on-premises environments. This role is central to building scalable automation solutions and defining the standards and best practices that empower our technical teams.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design and evolution of infrastructure automation and IaC capabilities in cloud and on-premises environments.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable automation solutions for provisioning, configuration management, and lifecycle operations.
- Define and promote standards, best practices, and reusable automation frameworks across infrastructure domains.
- Act as a technical authority and escalation point for infrastructure automation and orchestration.
- Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines to enable consistent and reproducible infrastructure deployments.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, Cloud, and DevOps teams to align automation strategy and execution.
- Provide technical mentoring and coaching to technical staff, maintaining high standards in engineering and operations.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reliability, and resource optimization.
What We're Looking For
- Over 10 years of experience in IT, with more than 5 years in senior automation, DevOps, or cloud engineering roles.
- Degree or certificate in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience implementing Infrastructure-as-Code and enterprise-scale automation.
- Strong hands-on experience with automation and orchestration tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD platforms).
- Deep expertise in Linux environments, open-source tools, and virtualization or container platforms.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP) as well as hybrid environments.
- Good understanding of network, security, and performance considerations in automated systems.
- Proven ability to influence, mentor, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in French and English, both spoken and written.
Nice to Have
- Certifications in cloud, DevOps, or related software tools.
- Experience operating platforms within large, regulated, or security-critical enterprises.
- Prior experience in infrastructure as a Platform Lead, Senior Engineer, or architecture-focused technical leader.
