About the Role
This role involves leading the design, analysis, and evaluation of industrial systems with a focus on crane and material handling equipment. The engineer will support project teams through technical expertise in structural integrity, code compliance, and system optimization.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering assessments for industrial facilities and material handling systems
- Perform structural analysis of crane systems and supporting infrastructure
- Develop design documentation for crane installations and modifications
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes such as OSHA, ASME, and CMAA
- Collaborate with project teams on multidisciplinary engineering projects
- Conduct site evaluations and field investigations for existing systems
- Prepare calculations and technical reports for client deliverables
- Review manufacturer data and specifications for crane components
- Support commissioning and testing of new or modified crane systems
- Identify opportunities for system improvements and operational efficiency
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and project staff
- Coordinate with clients to understand project requirements and constraints
- Assist in developing project scopes, schedules, and budgets
- Evaluate crane runway beams and runway support structures
- Troubleshoot mechanical and structural issues in industrial environments
- Apply finite element analysis or other simulation tools as needed
- Maintain awareness of advancements in crane technology and safety practices
- Participate in design reviews and client meetings
- Ensure integration of safety principles into all design phases
- Prepare construction specifications and bid evaluation support
- Review shop drawings and submittals from vendors
- Support failure analysis and forensic investigations when required
- Promote sustainable and cost-effective engineering solutions
- Stay current with regulatory changes affecting industrial operations
- Interface with regulatory agencies during permitting or compliance reviews
