About the Role
The role involves leading the design, analysis, and implementation of high-voltage AC and DC cable systems for large-scale power transmission infrastructure, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering design for high-voltage AC and DC cable systems
- Perform thermal and electrical analysis of cable installations
- Develop cable system layouts and routing plans
- Prepare technical specifications for cable procurement
- Support tender evaluation for cable supply and installation
- Conduct fault level and transient analysis for cable networks
- Review cable jointing and termination details
- Ensure compliance with international electrical standards
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Produce cable installation drawings and schematics
- Assess cable performance under various load conditions
- Evaluate cable system reliability and redundancy
- Support route selection studies for underground and submarine cables
- Coordinate with external consultants and contractors
- Review construction documentation for cable works
- Contribute to risk assessments and safety studies
- Provide input to environmental impact assessments
- Assist in developing cable asset management strategies
- Support commissioning and testing of cable systems
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cable technologies
- Ensure adherence to project schedules and budgets
- Deliver technical presentations to clients and stakeholders
- Review vendor documentation for technical accuracy
- Support root cause analysis for cable failures
- Contribute to continuous improvement in cable engineering practices
