About This Role This position will provide technical leadership in integrating geological and geospatial data to support mineral exploration, resource evaluation, and environmental management. The role involves managing geospatial databases, conducting spatial analyses, generating high-quality cartographic representations, and supporting geological modeling through advanced spatial insights. Key Responsibilities - Develop, integrate, and maintain geospatial databases within mapping platforms to enable accurate visualization and interpretation for exploration and mining operations. - Conduct advanced spatial modeling, interpolation, and predictive analysis using specialized geospatial software to support resource targeting and strategic planning. - Produce high-quality geological, structural, and thematic cartographic representations for exploration programs, technical reporting, and decision-making. - Utilize satellite imagery, remote sensing data, and digital elevation models for terrain analysis and lithological mapping. - Perform complex spatial analyses and generate dynamic maps, dashboards, and three-dimensional visualizations to inform operational and strategic decisions. - Process and analyze remotely sensed data for terrain modeling, land-use monitoring, and environmental assessments. - Apply image classification and change detection techniques to support mine planning, rehabilitation, and sustainability initiatives. - Create detailed geological maps, cross-sections, and three-dimensional models using advanced mapping and modeling tools for comprehensive project evaluations. - Collaborate closely with geological professionals, surveyors, and exploration managers to design and execute field programs that integrate geospatial insights. - Ensure data integrity, version control, and metadata documentation in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. - Perform additional duties as required to support departmental and organizational objectives. Education, Work Experience & Key Competencies - Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geomatics, Geological Engineering, Geography, Geographic Information Systems, or a related discipline is required. - A minimum of ten years' experience in mineral gold exploration. - Professional registration with a recognized professional association is desirable. - Experience in integrating geochemical, geological, geophysical, and remote sensing methodologies. - Demonstrate proficiency in geographic information systems and computer-aided design tools and manage geological databases using various platforms. - Strong understanding of coordinate systems, projections, spatial data management, and geospatial analysis techniques. - Knowledge of data mining and machine learning techniques for predictive and descriptive modeling. - Comprehensive understanding of quality assurance and quality control standards and methods. - Ability to manage geological databases effectively, ensuring data integrity and traceability across projects. - Solid understanding of economic geology principles. - Capability to work effectively across multiple scales and simultaneously manage diverse projects. - Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Innovation and continuous improvement mindset. - Effective stakeholder communication and collaboration capabilities.
