This fully remote position in the United States or Canada is part of the Midcore division, focused on the WWE Champions game. The role involves designing and implementing game features that improve player engagement, retention, and monetization within a live free-to-play mobile RPG puzzle environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the full lifecycle design and implementation of new features and systems aimed at boosting player engagement, retention, and monetization.
- Directly engage in brainstorming, prototyping, and refining meta systems, game modes, events, challenges, and social interactions that fit the game’s audience and brand.
- Participate in discussions about economy, progression, and balance to ensure systems support overall feature objectives.
- Use live operational data and player feedback to find opportunities to improve core gameplay loops, modes, and live operations features.
- Convert high-level business and creative objectives into detailed design specifications, wireframes, and supporting documentation.
- Work closely with Product, Analytics, and Engineering teams to shape, adjust, and enhance features based on player behavior and key performance indicators.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Art, UX, and Production to ensure accurate implementation and strong player experiences.
- Keep up with industry trends, competing games, and evolving free-to-play design practices.
- Support junior designers through feedback and guidance on best practices in design documentation, ideation, and execution.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of professional game design experience.
- Demonstrated ability to create and launch impactful live features such as game modes, challenges, and events.
- Proven background in systems design, progression modeling, and feature development.
- Experience working on live games, particularly in the free-to-play mobile sector.
- Track record of delivering features that successfully balance player enjoyment, engagement, and monetization.
- Knowledge of systems and economy design, including tuning, progression modeling, and numerical balancing.
- Experience collaborating across disciplines in live production environments.
- Positive, thoughtful, and collaborative approach to game development.
- Strong grasp of core design principles including player motivation, usability, pacing, and reward structures.
- Analytical mindset with comfort interpreting data to guide design decisions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multiple disciplines.
- Superior documentation skills, capable of clearly conveying design intent through specs, diagrams, and user flows.
- Hands-on experience using Excel and Google Sheets.
- Passion for free-to-play mobile games, particularly character-collection RPGs and combat systems.
Nice to Have
- Experience designing features for character-collection RPGs or combat-focused mobile games.
- Ability to mentor fellow designers and influence creative direction across teams.
- Experience working on free-to-play mobile titles.
- Familiarity with WWE content and brand.

Compensation
CA, CO, NJ, NY, and WA Annual Salary Range: $123,600 - $187,000 USD. Equity: Eligible for equity. Bonuses and comprehensive benefits package
