Join The Zebra as a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer on our Applied AI team. You will work on a broad set of technologies, including frontend and backend web development, data pipelines, and leveraging LLMs for both internal and consumer-facing applications. Your work will span experimental rapid-prototyping projects as well as building long-term, sustainable, and scalable solutions.

What You'll Do

Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of our comparison product and other products using Python, Django, FastAPI, GraphQL, ReactJS, and other modern technologies.
Deliver focused, maintainable, and performant code across different business areas, from adding functionality to existing microservices to creating new features for growth into new insurance lines.
Work closely with engineers, designers, and leadership to rapidly build, iterate, test, and deploy new features while maintaining a high-quality, robust codebase.
Improve and scale existing products and tools to support our growth.
Act as a technical leader for the team and grow other engineers through example and mentorship.

What We're Looking For

5+ years of professional programming experience.
Demonstrated ability to work in HTML/CSS and Javascript, particularly with React applications.
Strong understanding of and experience with one of the following: Python, Ruby, Java, C++, C#, or Go.
Strong experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
Comfort with the Linux/Unix command line.
Exceptional and proven web development experience.
Eagerness to take ownership of work and collaborate through the full product development lifecycle.
A track record of delivering quality code in a timely fashion.

Nice to Have

Experience with Python as the preferred language.
Experience working on consumer-facing web products, growth-phase startups, or using A/B testing and data to drive product decisions.
Experience with Django, AWS, React, microservice architectures, and web API design.
Experience with using AI tools for development.
Experience developing software that leverages LLMs and developing data sets for ML/AI applications.
