As a Senior Frontend Engineer at Bjak, you will develop user-facing features using modern web technologies and collaborate with designers and backend engineers to build scalable, high-performance web applications. You'll play a key role in enhancing Bjak's platform, which simplifies access to financial services across ASEAN.
What You'll Do
- Develop new user-facing features using modern web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js, etc.)
- Collaborate with designers to translate UI/UX design wireframes into high-quality code
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
- Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and implement responsive design principles
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and standards compliance
- Work closely with backend engineers to integrate frontend components with server-side logic
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve our frontend development practices
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Proven experience as a Frontend Software Engineer or similar role, with a strong portfolio of past projects
- Proficiency in web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Experience with at least one modern JavaScript framework (React, Angular, Vue.js, etc.)
- Knowledge of web performance optimization techniques and tools
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Nice to Have
- Experience with responsive design and mobile-first development
- Knowledge of backend development technologies (Node.js, Python, etc.)
- Understanding of web security best practices
- Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, Jasmine, etc.)
- Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in developer communities
