Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of comprehensive flight test plans
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to define test objectives and success criteria
- Conduct pre-flight risk assessments and safety reviews
- Serve as lead test engineer during flight operations
- Monitor aircraft systems in real time during test flights
- Analyze flight data to assess performance and identify anomalies
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal safety standards
- Develop instrumentation requirements for data collection
- Oversee data acquisition systems setup and validation
- Produce detailed test reports summarizing findings and recommendations
- Support certification efforts through structured test documentation
- Collaborate with design teams to resolve technical issues
- Maintain accurate records of all test activities
- Train junior engineers in flight test procedures and best practices
- Troubleshoot system-level problems during ground and flight testing
- Work closely with avionics and software teams to validate integrated systems
- Ensure test articles are properly configured for each test point
- Lead post-flight debriefs with relevant stakeholders
- Optimize test efficiency while maintaining safety margins
- Contribute to the development of automated test analysis tools
