Role Overview
This position is responsible for transforming intricate financial data into intuitive, decision-ready reporting through a robust data platform. The Senior Financial BI Analyst will collaborate directly with Finance, Accounting, and FP&A teams to enhance visibility into cashflow, improve forecasting precision, and deliver analytics that guide strategic business choices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain sophisticated dashboards focused on financial operations, including cashflow monitoring, revenue and expense projections, budget versus actual analysis, and comparative period reporting.
- Collaborate with FP&A and Accounting to convert financial models and forecasts into scalable, automated business intelligence solutions.
- Support monthly financial close processes, ongoing forecast updates, and scenario-based planning initiatives.
- Engage cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, and leadership to identify reporting requirements and deliver tailored analytics.
- Monitor advancements in BI platform capabilities and assess how automation and intelligent workflows can streamline financial reporting.
Required Qualifications
- At least five years in a senior BI or data analyst role with direct experience serving finance or accounting departments.
- Proven background in cashflow reporting, financial forecasting, and FP&A processes.
- Familiarity with financial statements, accounting cycles, and core financial KPIs.
- Ability to independently convert business and accounting logic into data structures and dashboard functionality.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and experience with data modeling, ETL design, and BI platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or Domo.
- Experience integrating data from multiple financial systems and handling large, complex datasets.
- Knowledge of ERP or accounting software like NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage, or SAP is strongly preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical findings into clear financial narratives.
- Adaptability in fast-moving environments with shifting priorities, month-end deadlines, and evolving stakeholder needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
- CPA or other finance certifications are advantageous.
- Hands-on experience with Domo is highly desirable.
- Track record building cashflow models, rolling forecasts, or budget-to-actual dashboards in a major BI tool.
- Direct experience working within or alongside FP&A or Accounting teams.
- Understanding of financial consolidation, multi-entity reporting, or intercompany eliminations.
