Responsibilities
- Act as the primary finance partner to Product Management, Engineering, and Technology leaders.
- Support product roadmap planning with rigorous financial analysis, scenario modeling, and investment prioritization.
- Translate product and technology strategy into clear financial outcomes, tradeoffs, and decision frameworks.
- Lead financial evaluation of new product introductions (NPIs), platform investments, and major feature initiatives.
- Develop and review business cases, including TAM assumptions, pricing models, cost structures, and payback analysis.
- Establish and track ROI metrics, ensuring accountability from initial approval through post-launch performance.
- Conduct post-investment reviews to assess variance vs. plan and recommend corrective actions.
- Own financial oversight of Microsoft Azure spend, partnering with Engineering, Cloud Ops, and Security.
- Build and maintain cloud cost models, forecasts, and optimization plans.
- Monitor and analyze consumption drivers (compute, storage, data, networking) and identify cost-efficiency opportunities.
- Support FinOps initiatives, including cost allocation and usage governance.
- Manage customer-level and product-level cloud margins, including COGS attribution and profitability analysis.
- Partner with GTM, Product, and Engineering to improve software gross margin and scalability.
- Analyze pricing, packaging, and usage patterns to ensure margins improve with Support strategic decisions around build vs. buy, architecture changes, and platform investments.
- Own product and technology operating forecasts, including headcount, cloud spending, and capitalized development costs.
- Create executive-ready reporting that highlights financial performance, risks, and investment outcomes.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis to support leadership decisions, M&A diligence, and long-range Influence stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Cloud, and GTM teams.
- Help establish financial discipline while maintaining speed and innovation.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and company objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field (MBA preferred but not required), or equivalent experience.
- 9–12 years of progressive experience in FP&A, Strategic Finance, or Finance Business Partnering roles.
- Extensive experience partnering with Product and Engineering teams in a SaaS, cloud, or technology-driven environment.
- Strong understanding of cloud economics, preferably with firsthand experience managing Microsoft Azure spend.
- Proven experience building and managing business cases, ROI analysis, and unit economics.
- Advanced financial modelling and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to technical and nonfinancial stakeholders.
- Experience in enterprise SaaS or platform-based technology businesses.
- Familiarity with FinOps practices, cost optimization tools, and cloud billing structures.
- Experience with product capitalization, software COGS, and gross margin analysis.
- Strategic thinking with strong execution discipline.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and fast-moving environments.
- Strong influencing and storytelling skills.
- Deep curiosity about product, technology, and customer value.
- Balance of financial rigor and business pragmatism.
- Ability to travel up <10% as business needs require.
