About the Role
The selected candidate will lead field implementation, network design, and communication systems for transportation infrastructure programs, coordinating with engineering teams and external stakeholders to deliver mission-critical solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead on-site deployment and commissioning of network and communication systems
- Manage field teams during installation, testing, and troubleshooting phases
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and project-specific communication standards
- Design and validate network architectures for transportation environments
- Oversee integration of communication systems with existing infrastructure
- Develop technical documentation for system configurations and field procedures
- Coordinate with project managers to meet schedule and performance goals
- Conduct site assessments to evaluate communication and network requirements
- Troubleshoot complex network and field communication issues
- Support cybersecurity protocols for communication networks
- Implement redundancy and failover strategies for critical systems
- Monitor system performance and recommend improvements
- Provide technical guidance during construction and operations phases
- Ensure electromagnetic compatibility in field environments
- Lead system acceptance testing and validation processes
- Train operations personnel on communication system use and maintenance
- Maintain accurate records of field activities and system changes
- Respond to field emergencies involving network or communication failures
- Evaluate new technologies for integration into transportation networks
- Ensure alignment with project design specifications and safety codes
- Work with vendors to resolve hardware and software issues
- Prepare status reports for project stakeholders
- Support change management processes for system upgrades
- Ensure environmental resilience of field communication equipment
- Promote safety and quality standards across field operations
