Presidio is seeking a Senior Engineer to join our technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering software engineering solutions and driving technical excellence within our fast-paced, collaborative environment.
What You'll Do
- Manage the delivery pipeline of software engineering solutions across a portfolio.
- Collaborate with business, sales, and marketing teams to define requirements and design scalable solutions.
- Drive technical excellence and the implementation of best engineering practices like design review, CI, and TDD.
- Act as a hands-on problem solver and lead the exploration of new technology platforms.
- Ensure adoption of best-in-class quality assurance techniques.
- Attract and retain diverse and highly skilled engineering talent.
- Assemble and present technology delivery pitches to senior technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support pre-sales and solutions teams on pursuits to bring in new business.
- Work across business, technology, and other functions to unblock teams and resolve issues.
- Work with the client engagement partner to improve client relationships.
- Efficiently manage day-to-day operations and client communication.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent work or military experience.
- 4-6 years of experience in a Sr Engineer role, leading requirements analysis, design, development, and operation of distributed, fault-tolerant applications.
- 4+ years of experience with multiple partner clouds such as Amazon Web Services, Azure, Rackspace, OpenStack, and Oracle Cloud.
- Hands-on experience with web development in any of: Python, Go, C#, JavaScript (Node, Angular).
- Experience with back-end development and open source technologies such as Jersey framework and Spring framework.
- Experience with Agile tools like JIRA and DevOps tools such as Gradle, Docker, and Git.
- Expertise in relational databases such as Postgres, MySQL, and Oracle.
- Expertise in NoSQL DB technologies such as Couchbase, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, and Cassandra.
- Expertise in message queues such as RabbitMQ and Redis.
- Hands-on experience with N-tier Architecture (MVC, JEE) and ORM (Object Relational Mapping).
- Demonstrated expertise and leadership in working with business units, product management, development, and operations staff to architect innovative solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Nice to Have
- A Master's degree in CS or IT is preferred.
