Tilt is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to build, own, and scale the platform that powers everything we do. As the first dedicated DevOps hire, you will fundamentally shape how we deploy, monitor, scale, and speed up our systems. You'll work side by side with product engineers and data leads to keep Tilt lightning-fast and resilient as we grow.
What You'll Do
- Drastically improve CI/CD pipeline speed to help us ship faster.
- Level up monitoring and observability to catch issues before users do.
- Help transition from a legacy REST API to GraphQL infrastructure.
- Drive AWS cost optimisation and scaling.
- Improve Docker builds.
- Collaborate with data engineers to keep data synced across systems.
- Introduce load testing and better testing environments.
- Rework code build processes and make Tilt fully runnable locally.
What We're Looking For
- You have built and scaled cloud infrastructure using AWS.
- You are experienced with Terraform (or similar tools) in production environments to manage infrastructure as code.
- You are confident working with Docker and containerised environments.
- You know how to set up and tune monitoring and observability tools.
- You understand code well, especially TypeScript, JavaScript, or Python.
- You have experience in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, ideally at an early-stage startup or scale-up.
- You are comfortable being the first in a role and building things from scratch.
- You value pragmatism, simplicity, and moving quickly.
Nice to Have
- You are excited about introducing new tools, experimenting with AI, and improving developer experience across the board.
