Businesswire is looking for a Senior Database Developer to play a key role in our digital transformation. You will build and support mission-critical database systems, working closely with Engineering, Architecture, and Operations teams across public cloud and traditional data centers.

What You'll Do

Manage the full database lifecycle from installation and configuration to daily operations, upgrades, and administration
Provide high-end technical DBA support across various operating environments and assist development teams with database definition, security, and integrity controls
Propose and implement enhancements to improve performance and reliability
Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle EBS environments, including concurrent managers and workflows
Troubleshoot and resolve issues across database and application tiers
Provide subject matter expertise in performance tuning, analyzing and tuning SQL and Oracle EBS
Perform DDL and application code reviews for database functionality
Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time
Work closely with L1/L2/L3 support teams to proactively identify and resolve issues
Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation

What We're Looking For

7+ years of hands-on Oracle and MySQL database experience in a mission-critical 24x7 environment
Proven experience managing Oracle EBS environments, including installation, patching, cloning, and performance tuning
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment with an understanding of ITIL
Experience with full database lifecycle management: upgrades, patching, cloning, backups, and recovery
Experience with automated database deployment using Jenkins, Ansible, or similar tools
Experience creating and maintaining an enterprise data dictionary
Experience with ETL processes
Understanding of Unix operating systems

Nice to Have

4+ years of AWS experience designing and supporting hyper-scale mission-critical database architecture
2+ years proficiency in writing, profiling, and optimizing SQL queries for performance
2+ years experience creating and maintaining Entity Relationship Diagrams
Understanding of data warehouses, data marts, data lakes, modeling, and profiling
Strong understanding of Java, AWS Lambda, and development frameworks
