Businesswire is looking for a Senior Database Developer to play a key role in our digital transformation. You will build and support mission-critical database systems, working closely with Engineering, Architecture, and Operations teams across public cloud and traditional data centers.
What You'll Do
- Manage the full database lifecycle from installation and configuration to daily operations, upgrades, and administration
- Provide high-end technical DBA support across various operating environments and assist development teams with database definition, security, and integrity controls
- Propose and implement enhancements to improve performance and reliability
- Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle EBS environments, including concurrent managers and workflows
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across database and application tiers
- Provide subject matter expertise in performance tuning, analyzing and tuning SQL and Oracle EBS
- Perform DDL and application code reviews for database functionality
- Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time
- Work closely with L1/L2/L3 support teams to proactively identify and resolve issues
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of hands-on Oracle and MySQL database experience in a mission-critical 24x7 environment
- Proven experience managing Oracle EBS environments, including installation, patching, cloning, and performance tuning
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment with an understanding of ITIL
- Experience with full database lifecycle management: upgrades, patching, cloning, backups, and recovery
- Experience with automated database deployment using Jenkins, Ansible, or similar tools
- Experience creating and maintaining an enterprise data dictionary
- Experience with ETL processes
- Understanding of Unix operating systems
Nice to Have
- 4+ years of AWS experience designing and supporting hyper-scale mission-critical database architecture
- 2+ years proficiency in writing, profiling, and optimizing SQL queries for performance
- 2+ years experience creating and maintaining Entity Relationship Diagrams
- Understanding of data warehouses, data marts, data lakes, modeling, and profiling
- Strong understanding of Java, AWS Lambda, and development frameworks
