Canva is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to work across our product, features, and growth teams to drive strategic decisions using data. In this role, you'll design experiments, build data models and tooling, and communicate insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders to help scale Canva's global impact.
What You'll Do
- Partnering with teams across Canva to influence strategic decisions through data.
- Designing and analysing A/B tests and other experiments that drive product and business outcomes.
- Building data models, dashboards, and tooling that help teams scale insights.
- Defining and forecasting key metrics to track progress and surface opportunities.
- Communicating findings clearly to a wide range of technical and non-technical audiences.
- Uplifting the broader data community through mentorship, best practices, and collaboration.
What We're Looking For
- You have a proven track record of using data to drive impact across products or business units.
- You write complex SQL with ease and can work with large-scale datasets.
- You think strategically, love solving ambiguous problems, and use data to simplify complexity.
- You’re an excellent communicator and storyteller — able to translate data into compelling narratives.
- You have experience with experimentation, event instrumentation, and data warehousing.
- You’ve worked with tools like Python or R and bring a strong foundation in statistics or a STEM field.
- You’re familiar with key tech metrics like product funnels and growth accounting.
- You value data accuracy, integrity, and using your craft to enable better decisions.
