Tilt is hiring a Senior Data Scientist to join its Methodologies group and build the foundational deep learning models that power our people-first credit philosophy. You will architect models, drive strategy across teams, and own projects from initial hypothesis to measured outcome.
What You'll Do
- Own the development and testing of deep learning architectures like transformers, embeddings, and neural networks that define how Tilt understands risk.
- Partner with peers in Engineering and Product to ensure models are effective and scalable in the real world.
- Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable solutions for the lending platform.
- Take full ownership of projects from initial hypothesis to measuring outcomes for customers.
- Share findings and mentor others to grow the team's deep learning capability.
- Define success by how the work improves financial outcomes for customers and partners.
What We're Looking For
- Proven track record of building and deploying deep learning models using modern frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Applied machine learning experience with complex, real-world problems.
- Expert at breaking down problems using first principles thinking.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical partners.
- Driven by a purpose to help people get access to fair credit.
