Responsibilities
- Architect, construct, and manage scalable data platforms that handle varied data processing demands.
- Build and refine ETL and ELT workflows to enable reliable and high-performance data integration and transformation.
- Work closely with teams across functions to convert business needs into robust data solutions.
- Enforce data security, governance policies, and regulatory compliance across the data platform.
- Track system performance, resolve technical issues, and drive continuous optimization.
- Offer technical guidance and mentorship to junior data engineering team members.
- Keep current with emerging tools, frameworks, and best practices in data platform development.
- Define platform architecture including pipeline design, orchestration methods, infrastructure-as-code practices, and monitoring tooling.
- Lead data extraction from enterprise systems such as SAP FI/CO via OData/RFC, Microsoft Graph API for SharePoint and M365, and SuccessFactors OData API, establishing initial pipelines.
- Design and implement staging layers using PostgreSQL, including schema layout and raw-to-processed data transformation logic.
- Establish observability for data ingestion with standardized logging, failure alerts, and health monitoring dashboards.
- Develop and operationalize a data quality framework, including rules for pipeline interruption versus warning triggers.
- Partner with the Governance Lead to integrate automated data classification into all data pipelines.
- Provide technical mentorship by setting engineering standards and reviewing peer deliverables.
