Your Mission You'll conceptualize and implement streaming and batch data systems that transport and transform information with exceptional reliability, efficiency, and transparency across Blip's technological platform. You'll champion data modeling excellence, ensuring produced data is high-quality, discoverable, and instantly consumable by both human and machine consumers. Key Responsibilities Data Engineering & Pipeline Architecture - Design, implement, and optimize high-throughput, low-latency data pipelines processing billions of daily events - Construct scalable data ingestion and transformation frameworks using Kafka, Flink, Spark, Airflow, Beam, and GCP technologies - Guarantee fault-tolerance, precise event processing semantics, and complete replayability - Establish reusable development, deployment, and monitoring pipeline accelerators Modeling & Storage Design - Develop comprehensive data models across streaming, analytical, and serving layers - Collaborate with Data Architects to evolve domain-driven data models ensuring semantic alignment - Implement optimal partitioning, clustering, and indexing strategies for performance efficiency Reliability, Quality & Observability - Integrate observability, lineage, and data quality validations into every pipeline - Define and enforce service level agreements for data delivery and accuracy - Collaborate with Platform Engineers to integrate metrics and self-healing mechanisms Collaboration & Leadership - Function as a senior engineering team member, contributing to design reviews and mentoring junior engineers - Collaborate closely with AI, Platform, and Product teams to deliver real-time event-driven capabilities - Promote engineering values of craftsmanship, performance, reliability, and simplicity Required Experience - 5+ years in Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or Distributed Systems - Proven experience building production-scale streaming systems - Hands-on expertise with Apache Kafka, Flink, Spark Streaming, Databricks, and GCP technologies - Deep understanding of event-driven architectures and real-time data modeling Technical Foundations - Proficient in Python/PySpark and SQL - Experience with cloud-native data services and workflow orchestration - Strong data modeling and storage format knowledge - CI/CD pipeline and infrastructure automation expertise Bonus Qualifications - Event sourcing system experience - Feature store architecture knowledge - Open-source streaming framework contributions Why Join Blip You'll become part of a globally ambitious organization with a highly motivated Data team, reshaping customer interactions through conversational AI and intelligent platforms.
