About the Role

Decathlon Digital is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to join the Data Observability team. In this role, you will be instrumental in building the data observability platform, creating and optimizing data models to analyze data usage, quality, and maturity across the entire data estate.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, and industrialize complex data models for analyzing data usage, quality, and maturity.
  • Ensure the resilience and operational excellence of data pipelines.
  • Participate in implementing automated Data Governance through data contracts and the data cockpit.
  • Proactively analyze needs and understand the daily life of users and their stakeholders.
  • Act as an expert to guide data teams in the correct and effective use of observability products.
  • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of working methods to elevate the team's technical standards.
  • Implement monitoring and automation solutions to reduce manual workload and improve team efficiency.

What We're Looking For

  • Advanced mastery of SQL for querying, manipulating, and optimizing complex datasets.
  • Advanced mastery of development in Python (PySpark) and/or other programming languages.
  • Good understanding of the data lifecycle and dimensional modeling principles, as well as concepts of data lineage, data governance, and data contracts.
  • In-depth knowledge of version control systems and continuous integration (Git/Github).
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, with a strong service mindset and user-centric approach.
  • Ability to thrive in an agile and collaborative work environment.
  • Mastery of English to easily interact with international teams and partners.

Nice to Have

  • Practical experience with cloud-based data platforms (Databricks, EMR, and Airflow is a significant plus).

Team & Environment

You will join the Data Observability team, a group of 5 people composed of 1 Product Manager and 4 Data Engineers.
