Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end cost management across all project phases, from initial budgeting and estimating to cost control, change management, and final account settlement.
- Create and deliver comprehensive cost plans, budgets, and estimates that align with project scope and goals.
- Produce accurate monthly cost reports, financial forecasts, and high-level presentations for leadership review.
- Maintain databases of cost benchmarks, historical project data, and post-project reviews to support ongoing process improvements.
- Evaluate design progress and contractor pricing submissions, offering commercial insights and leading negotiations to secure equitable and competitive contract terms.
- Advise on procurement methods, analyze bids, and manage contract administration processes.
- Monitor and manage contingency usage, commitment tracking, and cost impact assessments across multiple work packages or project stages.
- Lead value engineering efforts and support design refinements to uncover cost efficiencies.
- Collaborate with project controls and scheduling teams to ensure cost forecasts reflect actual project progress.
- Guide and develop junior staff through coaching and knowledge sharing to promote professional growth and adherence to industry standards.
- Support the development and refinement of internal cost management systems, templates, and workflows.
- Ensure compliance with organizational financial policies, client-specific mandates, and regulatory requirements.
- Establish and maintain productive relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal project teams.
- Adhere to SOX control procedures where applicable to the position.
