Responsibilities
- Ensures compliance of all compensation initiatives with applicable laws, including FLSA, pay equity mandates, pay transparency rules, and minimum wage regulations, with specific responsibility for Canadian pay equity and transparency reporting.
- Leads the annual performance-based salary adjustment process, including market benchmarking of salary budgets, system readiness, data validation, and development and delivery of training for HR teams and managers.
- Collaborates with the Total Rewards lead and Finance on short-term incentive planning, monthly accruals, and reporting; oversees variable pay programs through calculation file preparation, data verification, and coordination with payroll.
- Drives standardization of job descriptions by working with business and HR stakeholders to create unified, cross-functional templates that are consistent in structure, tone, and detail; conducts job evaluations when necessary.
- Designs and manages compensation models, dashboards, and reports using advanced Excel; analyzes large datasets to detect trends, resolve discrepancies, and identify opportunities for data quality improvements.
- May contribute to salary survey submissions and analysis to maintain competitive market positioning for compensation rates.
- Performs on-demand compensation analyses, including reviews of new hire and internal promotion offers, off-cycle adjustments, and provides expert guidance to leadership and HR on compensation policy interpretation and application.
