About the Role
This role involves leading the creation and coordination of MEP BIM models for complex infrastructure and building projects, supporting design teams with technical expertise and model integrity.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed MEP models using BIM software in compliance with project standards
- Coordinate interdisciplinary models to resolve clashes and improve design integration
- Support design teams by providing accurate, up-to-date model data
- Ensure modeling work adheres to project timelines and quality benchmarks
- Lead model reviews and validation sessions with engineering teams
- Collaborate with architects and structural modelers for integrated solutions
- Maintain model organization and naming conventions across project phases
- Produce drawings and documentation derived from the BIM model
- Implement modeling standards and best practices across project teams
- Assist in the development of BIM execution plans
- Troubleshoot software and modeling issues during project delivery
- Train team members on BIM tools and workflows
- Integrate design changes into the model efficiently
- Support construction documentation with model-derived outputs
- Participate in coordination meetings with consultants and contractors
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and client requirements
- Manage model version control and file structures
- Utilize Navisworks for clash detection and coordination reporting
- Work with project managers to define modeling scope and deliverables
- Contribute to continuous improvement of BIM processes
- Prepare models for facility management and handover use
- Apply knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in modeling
- Support sustainable design initiatives through accurate modeling
- Maintain awareness of industry trends in digital design and construction
- Assist in quality assurance checks for model accuracy
