Pearl Talent is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer for Savant Labs' core platform team. You will design and build the foundational systems that power our product, including distributed services, APIs at scale, data pipelines, and platform reliability.

What You'll Do

Design and build scalable, high-performance backend services in Java
Own platform components — service infrastructure, APIs, internal tooling, and reliability
Drive architecture decisions for distributed systems and microservices
Collaborate with product and data teams to build robust integrations
Improve observability, performance, and resilience of core platform services
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices

What We're Looking For

5+ years of backend engineering experience with Java as your primary language
Deep understanding of platform and distributed systems engineering
Strong grasp of microservices, REST/gRPC APIs, and async messaging (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.)
Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, etc.)
Solid understanding of system design, scalability, and production reliability
Currently working at a product-based organisation — we value candidates who've built and scaled real products
Strong ownership mindset — you take end-to-end responsibility for what you ship

Nice to Have

Experience with Spring Boot / Micronaut / Quarkus
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure)
Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
Background in data platforms, analytics infrastructure, or developer tooling
