Maxana is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer - Payments to modernize payments for our digital commerce platform. You will take ownership of building payment orchestration systems and direct PSP integrations, working directly under the CTO.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain API integrations with multiple payment service providers (PSPs).
- Implement payment routing and subscription billing logic.
- Develop robust webhook handlers and tokenization flows.
- Ensure system resilience, observability, and clean error handling.
What We're Looking For
- 6+ years of backend engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in one or more: Node.js, Java, Python, Go.
- Extensive experience integrating with REST APIs and processing webhooks.
- Direct payments domain experience is required.
- Strong understanding of Auth/Capture flows, refund logic, chargeback lifecycle, and subscription billing.
Nice to Have
- Experience with payment orchestration platforms such as Gr4vy, Stripe, or similar.
