BJAK is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design, implement, and maintain the core infrastructure that powers our applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop scalable and robust backend solutions that expand access to affordable financial services across ASEAN.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs.
- Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Optimize application performance and ensure scalability and reliability.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues to ensure smooth operation of production systems.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as a Backend Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Node.js.
- Experience with backend frameworks such as Express.js.
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Nice to Have
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture.
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
- Contributions to open-source projects or personal projects showcased on GitHub or similar platforms.
