Docplanner is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer - Health Profile team (100% remote-friendly within Spain)

Docplanner is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Health Profile team within the Patient Engagement area. Our mission is to make health data easily accessible and useful for patients, supporting better health decisions and long-term engagement.

What You'll Do

• Create new and maintain existing backend applications.
• Collaborate with Product Management to understand and refine requirements.
• Apply software design principles to ensure high-quality, highly scalable solutions.
• Manage and maintain live production software at scale, ensuring reliability and performance.
• Ship minimal, maintainable solutions with clear APIs, clean architecture, and automation.
• Design and implement features such as Care Circle, Health Profile, Lab Results, and Public Health Integrations.

What We're Looking For

• Strong backend experience with flexibility to dive into different stacks.
• Leverage modern AI tools (LLMs, agents) in daily engineering workflows.
• Solid understanding of Object Oriented Programming principles.
• Familiarity with tools such as GIT, ELK Stack, DataDog, RabbitMQ, Symfony Messenger, MariaDB, GitHub Actions, Docker, and Redis.
• Experience in Agile methodologies, with a focus on Extreme Programming practices.
• Continuously seek innovations and improvements while understanding the business perspective.
• Curious nature with a passion for learning and teaching.
• English communication - both spoken and written - min. B2 level.
• Open to receiving and giving valuable feedback.

Nice to Have

• Strong backend experience in PHP.
• Good knowledge of PHP 7.4/8.2 and Symfony 3.3/6.4.

Team & Environment

You'll be joining the Health Profile team within the Patient Engagement area. Our overall Engineering, Data, and Product teams consist of over 300 people.
