Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is looking for a Senior Back-End Engineer to join a fast-growing, AI-powered platform. In this remote role, you will directly shape the future of a cloud-based secure document exchange system by designing scalable backend architectures and developing automated data pipelines.

What You'll Do

Lead the full back-end development lifecycle for new features, from architecture and design to deployment and maintenance.
Collaborate on event-driven, cloud-native systems to support document management and processing workflows.
Design, build, and optimize APIs, including public-facing interfaces for seamless integration with external systems.
Scale and enhance infrastructure to handle increasing volumes efficiently while maintaining reliability.
Develop robust, automated data pipelines for document processing and analysis.
Maintain and improve backend architecture, making thoughtful technical decisions for long-term performance.
Work with cross-functional teams, including front-end engineers, to ensure smooth end-to-end system interactions.
Contribute to team culture and best practices through code reviews, mentorship, and proactive problem-solving.

What We're Looking For

5+ years of experience as a back-end engineer.
Strong expertise in Python and Azure.
Proven ability to deliver high-quality software in fast-paced, agile environments.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a balance between engineering scalable solutions and delivering quickly.
Self-motivated, independent, and proactive in taking ownership of projects.
Passion for building software, continuously learning, and experimenting with new approaches.
