Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and sustain cloud environments on Azure, covering virtual machines, virtual networks, storage solutions, identity services, and platform-as-a-service offerings.
- Oversee and enhance Azure networking elements such as virtual networks, network security groups, load balancing, and private connectivity through VPN or ExpressRoute.
- Create and manage infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, which is a key requirement set by technical leadership.
- Enable automation workflows using scripting languages including PowerShell, Bash, and configuration files in YAML or JSON, integrated with GitLab CI/CD.
- Implement and manage Azure Virtual Desktop environments, including host pools, session hosts, user profile containers via FSLogix, and integrations with Azure AD and Microsoft 365.
- Diagnose and resolve performance issues for Azure Virtual Desktop users, as specifically required by the customer.
- Develop, sustain, and debug continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines using GitLab.
- Automate routine cloud operations, system configurations, and monitoring procedures to improve efficiency.
- Enforce secure cloud configurations in alignment with federal mandates, including role-based access control, Key Vault, identity and access management, and data encryption standards.
- Maintain adherence to cybersecurity frameworks including NIST, Risk Management Framework, FedRAMP, and agency-specific compliance controls.
- Utilize monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor and Log Analytics to assess system performance, detect anomalies, and uphold service level agreements.
- Collaborate with engineering, security, and program teams to advance cloud transformation initiatives.
- Participate in regular on-site coordination with client stakeholders, as remote-only work is not sustainable long-term.
