Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic direction of AWS cloud architecture in alignment with organizational objectives
- Manage full lifecycle delivery of new cloud projects, from scoping to implementation and resolution of technical obstacles
- Create robust, production-ready AWS designs covering compute, storage, networking, security, serverless, and event-based systems
- Drive transformation initiatives including migration from on-premises to AWS and refactoring monolithic applications into microservices
- Develop and maintain architecture decision records, reference models, and technical documentation
- Design advanced data architectures on AWS, including data lakes, lakehouses, pipelines, and analytics platforms
- Utilize AWS data tools such as S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift, Lake Formation, EventBridge, Step Functions, Kinesis, and MSK to build scalable and compliant data environments
- Partner with data and product teams to deliver reliable, production-level data solutions
- Establish architectural patterns for AI, generative AI, and agent-based applications on AWS
- Build solutions using Amazon Bedrock, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), vector databases, agent coordination, and workflow automation
- Implement governance, security, and cost management controls for AI and generative AI workloads
- Monitor advancements in AWS AI and machine learning services and convert them into practical architectural guidance
- Set and enforce architectural standards, policies, and best practices across engineering teams
- Promote adoption of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation, along with CI/CD and GitOps workflows
- Design observability frameworks using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or similar tools
- Conduct AWS Well-Architected reviews and lead threat modeling exercises
- Coach junior architects and engineers to elevate technical capabilities company-wide
- Serve as the main technical liaison with AWS, including engagement with TAMs and support programs
- Clearly communicate architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proactively question existing approaches and recommend meaningful improvements
