Braze is hiring a Senior Automation Engineer to join as a Software Quality Engineer working on applications and services for our omni-channel, proactive communication platform. You'll be part of a multidisciplinary Agile team based in Pune, India, collaborating extensively with teams in the UK and US.
What You'll Do
- Write, test, and maintain code adhering to internal guidelines and industry best practices.
- Deliver features independently with high quality.
- Contribute actively to low-level design definitions.
- Ensure applications are built to modern security standards.
- Write reusable code and libraries.
- Write automated tests to ensure appropriate test coverage.
- Take part in code reviews as both reviewer and reviewee.
- Participate and contribute in team Scrum ceremonies.
- Create and maintain required documentation.
What We're Looking For
- At least 5 years of experience in testing roles for software engineering teams.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with automated testing of Java applications and services in a cloud environment.
- Hands-on experience with Playwright Automation.
- Good understanding of test automation design patterns, practices, tools, and frameworks (e.g., TDD, BDD, Gherkin/SpecFlow/Jasmine, Selenium/Playwright).
- Experience writing tests using JavaScript and TypeScript.
- ISEB/ISTQB qualified (or equivalent).
- Experience in creating clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and scripts, through execution to reporting of results.
- Practical experience in software testing (planning and execution, manual and automated) across UI, business logic, data access, web services/APIs.
- Sound understanding of different types of tests, their value, and where they fit into the software development lifecycle.
- Experience with cross browser and non-functional testing strategies and tools.
- Knowledge of SQL.
