About the Role

We are looking for a Senior AI Platform Engineer who will play a pivotal role in our Data & AI transformation by developing and operating state-of-the-art AI platform solutions. Your work will enable the training, deployment, and continuous improvement of tailored AI models for our connected vehicles globally.

What You'll Do

  • Build and operate AI platforms for data pipelines, training, deployment, and inference.
  • Optimize for best-in-class AI models, employing suitable ML and LLM approaches.
  • Provide technical leadership and ownership, including architecture ownership across teams and mentoring engineers towards operational excellence.
  • Analyze stakeholder requirements and translate them into scalable AI platform features that enable hundreds of teams.
  • Ensure the reliability, performance, and cost-efficient operation of AI-based systems.
  • Develop solutions for efficient interoperability and load-distribution between in-vehicle and cloud platforms.
  • Develop data and context management solutions to power personalized, customer-centric AI experiences.

What We're Looking For

  • A university degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a comparable qualification.
  • At least five years of professional experience in AI platform engineering, AI training & inference, or AI tooling.
  • A track record of successfully leading and implementing large and complex technical AI solutions in cloud or edge devices.
  • Experience with AI solutions on the edge or a strong interest in transferring your knowledge to the in-vehicle domain.
  • Hands-on experience in machine learning or generative AI and proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, Node.js/Nest.js, Java/Kotlin, or Go, as well as API technologies.
  • Deep understanding of cloud architectures (mainly AWS), container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and MLOps of scalable cloud services.
  • Very good written and spoken English skills.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of German, both written and spoken, is an advantage.
