c/side is hiring a Security Researcher to discover emerging threats, scope detection improvements, and lead our security detection strategy. You will analyze traffic data, build detection methods, and publish research to protect the internet.
What You'll Do
- Keep an eye on attacks around the world and find new attack methods.
- Scope detection methods for new attacks, using existing attributes where possible, and ship them.
- Lead the detection strategy, detection, and response.
- Review incoming detections and narrow down broader signals.
- Lead Security Research and content efforts, including blogging about malicious scripts impacting over 1000 websites.
- Build new detection methods and rules for new attacks.
- Proactively define detections for malicious client-side behaviors and review against script data.
- Use and build internal tools to detect never-before-seen attacks.
What We're Looking For
- Deep understanding of JavaScript, browsers, and client-side attacks.
- At least 3-5 years prior work experience.
- Self-managing and motivated to disrupt the client-side and web security market.
- Motivated by stopping bad actors from impacting unknowing individuals.
Nice to Have
- Background in Rust and Yara rules.
- Experience finding gaps between client-side JS specifications and JS engine implementations.
- Participation in capture the flag events, whitehat hacking, or bug bounties.
