Mass General Brigham is seeking a Security Officer to provide a safe and secure environment for hospital patients, visitors, and employees. You'll be responsible for enforcing security regulations, watching for safety hazards, investigating potential criminal conduct, and providing protective services.
What You'll Do
- Patrol assigned areas, giving particular attention to areas where security problems have occurred.
- Identify unsafe conditions and improperly secured areas/property to help prevent theft, injuries, or damages.
- Maintain strict confidentiality standards at all times.
- Investigate thefts, shortages, and other complaints involving potential criminal misconduct.
- Notify appropriate law enforcement agencies of potential/real civil or criminal misconduct and detain suspicious individuals as appropriate.
- Make arrests as appropriate when authorized and participate in subsequent court proceedings as required.
- Prepare and submit complete and accurate written reports; make notations in log of all incidents; keep Supervisor informed.
- Maintain accountability for valuables/property and forms of evidence coming into custody; ensure safekeeping; maintain documentation.
- Perform as Dispatcher utilizing integrated security systems; radio dispatch personnel to respond to occurrences and phone calls for assistance; provide and maintain documentation.
- Assist with workplace and domestic victims; respond to medical emergencies; assist in the restraint of patients when authorized; protect dignitaries; control pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
- Voluntarily participate in various departmental committees, task forces, and teams.
What We're Looking For
- Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver's License
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice
- 3-5 years experience in hospital, security/police, emergency medical, or customer services
