Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is hiring a Security Engineer to join our agile, global security team. In this remote role based in Poland, you will be instrumental in building secure systems and processes for a high-growth, remote-first organization. You will shape our security posture by collaborating closely with engineering, IT, and DevOps teams.
What You'll Do
- Partner with technical teams to design and embed security into infrastructure, applications, and vendor solutions.
- Conduct security assessments, penetration tests, and ensure continuous compliance for cloud-based systems.
- Monitor and enforce adherence to data protection policies, legal standards, and best practices.
- Assist in vulnerability management programs including SCA, SAST, DAST, and bug bounty initiatives.
- Support security operations and incident response processes.
- Contribute to integration projects involving acquisitions and internal alignment with security standards.
- Develop and maintain documentation, tooling, and dashboards to support security operations and reporting.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in security engineering or architecture within software organizations.
- Experience in securing cloud platforms.
- Proficiency with scripting (Python preferred) and the Linux command line.
- Familiarity with at least one vulnerability management tool (e.g., Wiz, Rapid7, Sumo).
- Understanding of cryptographic protocols and security standards (e.g., PKI, TLS/SSL).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic setting.
Nice to Have
- Multi-cloud experience.
- Knowledge of frameworks such as CIS, NIST, ISO 27001, or SOC 2.
